I started my building career in the mid 1990’s in Wanganui N.Z straight out of High school. I have 28 years building experience with the last 22 years being in New Plymouth. To this day I still love the projects we get to create for our clients.
I have built in Wanganui, Auckland and Taupo during my apprenticeship days following some employers on their adventures and gaining experience. I believe this was a good way of learning the trade from a wide range of work, environments and people that I came into contact with. Nearing the completion of my apprenticeship in 2001 myself and my future wife Amanda, who is a Primary school teacher moved to New Plymouth to pursue career opportunities. I completed my time with a local New Plymouth builder achieving the position of foreman.
We love New Plymouth, the community and the amazing opportunities the region has to offer. In 2007 we decided to travel overseas for a working OE. During this time my wife Amanda and I were based in London and I gained experience in shop fit outs including an upmarket champagne bar and renovations on 200 year old homes.
On our return from travelling and years of our own house renovations, with strong encouragement from others we decided that it was time to take the next step and start up our own business. 16 years on we have often had repeat clients and many referrals.
We are members of the Registered Master Builders Association N.Z which has enabled me to grow as a professional business owner and offer a comprehensive range of contracts & 10 year Guarantees to our clients. I am also a Licensed Building Practitioner.
We like to build not only structures but long term positive relationships with our clients. We have an exceptional and experienced team of builders and keep a tight knit unit of workers, sub-trades and suppliers which helps us provide the quality service that we strive to achieve.
Building trust, having integrity & honesty are some of the core values we possess. I have often been described as having an approachable nature with great respect for the needs of my clients. I also like to be involved on the tools as much as possible with my employees and am often on site working & keeping things running smoothly.
We understand that your new home may be your biggest investment and we take our role in this seriously. We support, listen to your needs & wants and offer advice where needed and/or arrange the correct people to guide you through the project from planning & consents, personal mortgage packages, insurance packages to post completion services.
We don’t subcontract our home building work out to other builders or contractors so you’re guaranteed to have our exceptional team seeing it through from start to finish.
In 2011 I took on the certified installations of Velux skylights for the Taranaki region and have grown that into a successful addition of services that we provide. Velux are the market leaders in the skylight industry and the products are of exceptional quality.
We specialise in the residential sector of building anything from small renovations & extensions to high end architecturally designed homes. We always enjoy a good challenge and work together with our clients to create their dream. My team and I have often been described as ‘perfectionists’ who have a passion for building and creating high quality spaces/homes.
Myself and our team stand by our motto of “building with excellence & pride” and our team are very much on board with this. With that in mind we look back at completed jobs and are proud as a team to say we created a quality home that will stand the test of time.

No More One Man Band
By 2011 workload had increased significantly so I took a deep breath and added 2 qualified builders to the team, we also became the regions only certified installers for Velux Skylights!
Still Growing
We now have 4 people on board, a mixture of qualified builders and learning apprentices. With very little advertising our work has grown through referrals from happy clients!

We are now members of the N.Z Registered Master Builders association. This provides our clients with piece of mind as we offer a range of building contracts and 10 year guarantees.

Would highly recommend Andre and the team for any renovation needs. They renovated our home office after we had a flood (weather related). We had 4 different team members involved at various stages and they were all very polite, tidy and respectful. Great communication throughout the process and the work was completed in a timely manner. Andre managed all the sub trades (painting, plastering, electrical and plumbing) which took some of the stress out of our hands and I'm sure that made the process take a lot less time than if we'd project managed it.

They willingly accepted the challenges of limited access to a steeply sloping site that involved piling, retaining, filling and framing a three storied building. The build was taken to completion by Papprill's which included cladding, lining and fitting of internal joinery.
We apprerciated that Andre and his foreman Rob relished the challenges that our design presented. Problems were met with solutions and all the staff were enjoyable to deal with. The workmanship was meticulous as the Gold Award from the master Builders recognised Papprill's uncompromising care.

Sound advice, good communication and fantastic workmanship made Andre Pappprill Builders easy to work with. Andre was very helpful ans extremely understanding. Our job flowed very well as they are solution driven. Andre has been in the industry for a long time, he is very knowledeable and conscientious.
Andre and his team were easy to talk to and open to consultation if changes were required. On completion the final inspection resulted in the code of compliance being issued without any further building requirements to be done. I would have no hesitation in recommending Andre and his team to build your future project.

"Andre Papprill Builders Ltd completed a recent refit for us at the pharmacy. It involved updating the retail area and completely renovating the dispensary area. Just to make this harder for him he not only had to liaise with joiners from Tokoroa but complete the project while we were still operating within a specific time limit. Andre and his staff took on this project, while managing it and completed the renovation within the time and budget allocated. He was amazingly accomodating, calm and organised throughout the project. At times he needed to organise his staff to work during the working hours and they were very good with our staff and clients. I would have no hesitation what so ever in recommending any projects whether they are renovations, refits or completely new projects. I am looking forward to working again with Andre and his staff in the near future".
